Understand what the cache stores

Page cache stores rendered output, object cache may reduce repeated database work, and browser cache stores assets on visitor devices. Each layer has different settings and responsibilities.

Start with a simple configuration

Check hosting cache before adding another layer. Avoid overlapping plugins without understanding interactions, and test one setting at a time.

Exclude personal data

Review exclusions for login, account, cart, checkout and session-dependent pages. Test with two accounts and a private window to check that personal data is not shared.

Test updates and cache clearing

Edit a test page and confirm visitors see the change. For price or form updates, clear affected layers and test functions and performance, keeping a rollback configuration.
